News Club
To encourage and train the children who are interested in news, a News Club is working in St. Peter's Higher Secondary School Kurumpanadom. Weekly newscasts, training workshops, and news reviews are the main activities of the news club. The former students of the school, Fr. Antony Ethikkad (Director, Mac TV), Sujaya Parvathy (Associate News Editor, 24 News TV) and Rijo Joseph (Picture Editor, Malayala Manorama) supervise and guide the work of the News Club. Also, the teachers of the school are there with all the support for the children.
Broadcasting is done every week through social media, focusing on news related to education and what the children should know. Fifty children who have been specially screened and trained in this field are working as News Club members. All areas like news gathering, editing, reporting, camera operation, video editing and news reporting are handled by the children themselves. Child journalists are ready to report not only the activities of their school but also from nearby schools. A special program and interview are being prepared to present the children who excel in the fields of art, sports, literature, science, information, technology and acting before the general public.
